PAF No 2 Squadron

No 2 Squadron was formed on 1st June 1956 wutg T-33A aircraft for the Jet Conversion Training to the newly graduated pilots. During 1965 and 1971 wars, the Squadron  pilots carried out day and night Surface Attacks on enemy convoys and also provided Close Air Support to Pakistan Army. In August 1982, the Squadron received B-57 Bombers and this became a composite Squadron. On 30 August 1990, the Squadron was re-equipped with F-7P fighter aircraft. Pilot Officer Rashid Minhaas Shaheed of No 2 was awarded with Nishan-e-Haider.
